A Guide To Prophetic Prayer

We would love you to join our prophetic prayer when you are able

If you are new to prophetic prayer you might find this helpful.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE GROUP?

When we meet in our online group for prophetic prayer we begin with our eyes on God, in silent adoration and submission. This is a quiet time, then as we begin to hear what is on Gods heart, we can unmute our screen to share and pray. So, when we hear we can explain to the group what we hear but then we always pray as well. Sometimes our prayer can be a decree. There is no obligation to say anything if you prefer not to.

WE ARE PRIESTS POSITIONED IN PRAYER

The Rooms for the Priests

Ezekiel 40: 44 Outside the inner gate, within the inner court, were two rooms, one at the side of the north gate and facing south, and another at the side of the south gate and facing north. 45 He said to me, “The room facing south is for the priests who guard the temple, 46 and the room facing north is for the priests who guard the altar. These are the sons of Zadok, who are the only Levites who may draw near to the Lord to minister before him.”

Prophetically speaking the south represents life in the world and north is an analogy of life in the Spirit.  All of us are priests; some are called to guard the temple, looking after the public worship and might, for example, include those gifted with preaching and evangelism. The priests who guard the altar are those who offer sacrifice and keep their gaze on God, listening to him in prayer and maybe living in a fasting lifestyle; this is something of the prophetic calling and gifting. God is describing these two different priestly duties to Ezekiel when he gives him revelation about the new temple.

WE ARE POSITIONED IN CHRIST

It is from this position that we can see and hear in the Spirit.

Ephesians 2:4 -6 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

WE ARE POSITIONED IN GOD'S ETERNAL PURPOSE

Even our poorest attempt to pray has great significance for God’s purpose.

Revelation 6

5 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 7 He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. 8 And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb.

Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people. 9 And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll
   and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased for God
persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.
10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
and they will reign on the earth.”
